Darts Thrills: Five Stars Punch Tickets to MODUS Super Series Finale!

Friday at the MODUS Super Series was packed with darts action as five players – Ashton Brown, David Davies, Jenson Walker, Ashley Coleman, and Brian Raman – fought their way through their respective groups to secure coveted spots in Saturday’s Grand Finale. They join earlier qualifier Tommy Morris, setting the stage for an exciting battle where only one player will earn a place in the prestigious Champions Week.

Group C: Brown Dominates, Davies Edges Through

The second day of Group C saw intense competition, but it was Ashton Brown who ultimately topped the group. Building on his strong start, Brown won four of his five matches on Friday, defeating Jim McEwan, David Davies, Sander Van Ockenburg-Zwaan, and Aaron Turner. His only loss came against Josh McCarthy, but Brown’s impressive performance meant he finished with a total of 16 points out of a possible 20, comfortably securing his place in the Finale.

Joining Brown from Group C is David Davies, who finished a close second. Davies ended the day with 14 points, narrowly beating out Aaron Turner, who also accumulated 14 points but missed out on qualification due to an inferior ‘leg difference’ – a tie-breaking rule in darts that looks at the total number of legs won versus lost. This highlights just how tight the competition was at the top!

The rest of Group C saw Josh McCarthy finish 4th with 12 points, Jim McEwan 5th with 4 points, and Sander Van Ockenburg-Zwaan at the bottom with 0 points after suffering ten straight defeats.

Group B: Walker Leads the Way, Coleman and Raman Qualify

Over in Group B, Jenson Walker delivered a standout performance on Friday evening, topping the group by winning three of his four matches. Walker secured victories against Ashley Coleman, Alex Williams, and Scott Mitchell, with his sole defeat coming at the hands of Brian Raman. He finished with 12 points out of a possible 16, ensuring his spot in Saturday’s Finale.

The battle for the remaining qualification spots in Group B was fierce. Ashley Coleman and Brian Raman both successfully progressed, finishing 2nd and 3rd respectively. Coleman ended with 10 points, while Raman secured 8 points. They both advanced ahead of Scott Mitchell, who also finished on 8 points but was eliminated due to leg difference, mirroring the drama seen in Group C. Alex Williams finished at the bottom of Group B with 2 points.

The Road to Champions Week: Saturday’s Grand Finale

With the qualifiers now confirmed, the stage is set for an exhilarating Saturday Finale (Week 11). The six qualified players – Tommy Morris (Group A winner), Ashton Brown, David Davies, Jenson Walker, Ashley Coleman, and Brian Raman – will battle it out for a single, highly coveted spot in the prestigious Champions Week. This is where the best of the best compete for ultimate glory, making Saturday’s showdown a crucial event for all competitors. The action is scheduled to commence from 7:30 PM BST, promising an evening of high-stakes darts for fans worldwide.
