The final regular matchday of the DDV Bundesliga 2025/26 season delivered high drama, confirming all teams for the coveted playoffs and deciding crucial promotion and relegation spots. DC Vegesack Bremen, Dart Team Steinfurt, and DC LaBamba celebrated securing their playoff berths, while Karlsruher SC dominated to clinch the South division title. In the Second Bundesliga, Dartfighters Greifswald and DC Wolfsölden earned well-deserved promotions, with minimal movement at the bottom of the tables.

DDV Bundesliga: The Race to the Playoffs

Bundesliga North: Last-Minute Surprises

The battle for playoff spots in the Bundesliga North was particularly intense. DC Vegesack Bremen executed a perfect final matchday, securing two vital victories to leapfrog into second place and claim a playoff spot. Led by key players like Andree Welge and Michael Klönhammer, they achieved an 8:4 win against DC Nomads Flensburg and a similar result against Captains DC Berlin, who unfortunately finished a close fifth.

Another team making a spectacular push was Dart Team Steinfurt 16. Their dominant performances, including a resounding 10:2 victory over DC Bulldogs Wolfenbüttel and an 11:1 rout of The Wanderers, ensured their place in the final rounds. The Bulldogs also deserve congratulations for reaching the top four, securing their spot with a whitewash win against the bottom-ranked team.

While Dart Team Köln had already secured their division title, they played a pivotal role in the relegation battle. Their loss to Vikings DC Berlin set up a direct showdown for survival. The Berlin team, featuring Benjamin Sensenschmidt and Marcel Hausotter, delivered a powerful 10:2 performance against SGR-9-Darter to secure their top-flight status, sending SGR-9-Darter down to the lower league. Individually, Robin Radloff topped the “Best Performances” chart, and Vladimir Andersen led the player rankings.

Bundesliga South: LaBamba’s Decisive Finish

The Bundesliga South also saw a gripping fight for the last playoff qualifier. The decisive match pitted Dart-Fabrik Leipzig against DC LaBamba 1. Leipzig needed a win to advance, but LaBamba took an early 5:3 lead in the singles, even featuring Tour Card holder Marvin Kraft. Leipzig fought back, winning crucial doubles matches to level the score. The tension culminated in the very last game, where Daniel di Sante and Michael Treczka checked out 90 in 18 darts against Griese/Kobus, securing the victory and sending LaBamba into the playoffs.

In other South division action:

  • DC Hawks Vilsbiburg clinched third place with two draws against DC Torpedo’s and Dartspub Walldorf.
  • Despite a decent final day, Dartspub Walldorf was confirmed for relegation after drawing with DC Torpedo’s.

The South division championship was decided in a thrilling final match between Karlsruher SC and DC Dartmoor Darmstadt. Both teams had won their previous matches against bottom-ranked DC Urbach, setting up a direct contest for first place. KSC took an early 5:3 lead. Justin Heiliger and Martin Kramer then sealed the deal with a 4:1 win in their doubles match against Kevin Kuhn and Merlin Nicolaus, securing the title for Karlsruher SC. Martin Kramer was a standout player, leading both “Best Performances” (91 times) and player rankings (26:2 games).

Second Bundesliga: Promotion Dreams Realized

2. Bundesliga Nord: Greifswald’s Hard-Fought Promotion

All eyes were on Dartfighters Greifswald‘s final match. Despite an earlier 4:8 loss to USG Racing Mimimi, their fate was in their own hands: a win against Shakespeare Dartists Hannover was essential for promotion to the First Bundesliga. Otherwise, Lumberjacks Salzgitter, who had won both their matches on the final day, would have returned to the top flight. The match was incredibly tight, with doubles split 4:4 and the score remaining level at 5:5. Ultimately, René Kähler, partnering Marc Nietschke, hit the double 5 in the deciding leg to secure the win and promotion for Greifswald. Hannover and USG Racing Mimimi had already secured their mid-table positions.

The strong performance of Lumberjacks Salzgitter, with two 8:4 victories against DC Hallendorf and TSG Jerstedter Falken, wasn’t enough for promotion. Both Hallendorf and the Falken were already facing relegation from the Second Bundesliga, with the Falken finishing at the very bottom despite winning their direct relegation battle.

DC Dartona 1, featuring Moritz Bohrmann and Christopher Toonders, dominated the division as champions, finishing a commanding 29 points clear. They added more points on the final day against MTV Seesen and DT Pusdorfer Ratten, both of whom will remain in the 2. Bundesliga next year. Giuseppe Rizzo was the top individual performer in this division, leading both “Best Performances” (74 times) and the singles rankings.

2. Bundesliga Süd: Wolfsölden’s Return to Glory

In the 2. Bundesliga South, DC Wolfsölden successfully achieved promotion back to the higher league. Led by Erik Tautfest, the team quickly sealed their second-place finish with convincing wins against Nostradartmus 1 (8:4) and DC Wetterau (10:2). Nostradartmus secured their league survival with a 9:3 win over Wetterau, who had already been relegated.

Olympia Koblenz had already secured their promotion before the final matchday. Despite a 4:8 loss to Dart Force One and a draw against Dart Team Essenbach, their position was safe. Dart Force One, however, needed a win against Essenbach to avoid relegation but fell 3:5 behind in the singles and couldn’t recover, leading to their relegation.

DVK1, Bären, and Clochard Darter Augsburg each secured a victory, ensuring their continued presence in the 2. Bundesliga South for the next season. Simon Schmitt and Daniel Zadach shared the lead in “Best Performances” (81 times), while Manuel Lerch topped the player rankings.

This concludes a thrilling season of DDV Bundesliga darts, filled with unexpected turns, clutch performances, and well-deserved victories across all divisions. Fans can now look forward to the upcoming playoff battles and the next season’s challenges!
