Darts Dominance: Robertson and Evetts Shine on Day One of MODUS Super Series

Day one of the MODUS Super Series saw thrilling darts action as Scott Robertson and Ted Evetts emerged as the standout performers in Groups B and C, respectively. Robertson achieved a perfect record, winning all four of his matches, while Evetts, despite an initial setback, powered through with four consecutive victories to top his group. Both players have positioned themselves strongly for the next stages of the tournament.

Robertson’s Unstoppable Run in Group B

Scott Robertson delivered an exceptional performance in Group B, demonstrating complete dominance by winning all four of his matches on Thursday. His consistent play put him in a commanding position at the end of the day.

  • He kicked off his campaign with a hard-fought 4-3 victory against Alex Williams, a player who narrowly missed out on winning Group A.
  • Robertson then secured a decisive 4-0 win against Shaun Fox.
  • He continued his strong form with a 4-2 triumph over Terry Nash.
  • To cap off a flawless day, Robertson sealed another impressive 4-0 win against Jarred Cole.

This perfect run means Robertson holds a two-point advantage over Alex Williams in the group standings. Jarred Cole currently occupies the crucial third spot, two points further back. Terry Nash sits in fifth with two points, while Shaun Fox is yet to secure a win.

Evetts Bounces Back to Lead Group C

After a disappointing run in Group A, Ted Evetts, known as ‘Super Ted’, made a spectacular comeback in Group C, winning four out of his five matches to top the group on day one.

His day began with a minor setback, a 4-1 loss to Kevin Burness. However, Evetts quickly regrouped and unleashed a streak of four consecutive victories:

  • A strong win against Shane Ryan.
  • A convincing performance against Chris Wickenden.
  • A dominant display over Stijn Deklerck.
  • And a final victory against Mitch Minnie.

These impressive wins put Evetts at the top of Group C with eight points. Kevin Burness is close behind in second place, separated only by leg difference, with his sole defeat being a whitewash against Deklerck. Chris Wickenden is in third, four points adrift, while Mitch Minnie and Shane Ryan share the same points tally, two points ahead of Stijn Deklerck.

What’s Next: The Decisive Day Two

The excitement continues on Friday. Group C will reach its conclusion, determining which players advance, starting from 1 pm. Later in the evening, Group B will also wrap up, setting the stage for the next phase of the MODUS Super Series. Spectators can expect more intense darts action as players battle for crucial qualification spots.
