A groundbreaking initiative, Mission369, has launched with the ambitious goal of transforming youth sports across Africa. Led by Mission Darts and professional player Devon Peterson, this program aims to introduce darts to 2,500 schools over the next five years, starting in South Africa. By providing comprehensive starter kits and fostering a supportive community, Mission369 seeks to engage an estimated 50,000 children, offering them new opportunities for development, skill-building, and a pathway to potentially become future darts champions.

Mission Darts, a leading name in the sport, has joined forces with the charismatic darts professional, Devon Peterson, to ignite a passion for darts among African youth. Their collaborative effort, dubbed Mission369, is not just about playing a game; it’s about creating a vibrant ecosystem for young talent to flourish.

The core of Mission369 is its commitment to bringing darts directly into schools across the African continent. Kicking off in Peterson’s home country of South Africa, the initiative is set to expand significantly. Over the next five years, Mission Darts and Devon Peterson will be delivering their specially designed ‘starter kits’ to an impressive 2,500 schools. Currently, these setups are engaging around 20 children per school in South Africa, with a grand vision to see 50,000 children playing darts across the entire continent.

Devon Peterson, a passionate advocate for the program, shared his excitement: “I can’t wait for this product to be in schools, with kids engaging in co-curricular activities, learning mathematics using dartboard calculations, and playing the sport to become the professionals they are destined to be.”

The **Mission369 Starter Kit** is meticulously designed to equip schools with everything needed for a successful darts program. Each kit includes:

  • One new **Mission African Aspiration Dartboard**, specifically designed to resonate with the African spirit.
  • One **90-piece African Mission Darts set**, featuring six sets of flights, multiple stems, springs, and two sets of high-quality stainless steel darts.
  • The advanced **Torus 120 light system**, ensuring perfect illumination of the dartboard.
  • A robust, rectangular **Mission369 surround**, providing essential wall protection around the board.
  • A **Mission369 oche sticker**, ensuring players maintain the correct throwing distance.

Beyond the equipment, the true intention of Mission369 is profound. It aims not only to get school children playing darts but also to:

  • Provide them with **new opportunities** for personal growth and achievement.
  • Offer a clear **pathway to develop skills**, both on and off the oche (the throwing line).
  • Help them grow and thrive within a **supportive community** built around the sport.

The initial rollout of Mission369 will target key areas within South Africa, including Mitchells Plain, Khayelitsha, Gugulethu, Pinelands, and Durbanville, laying the groundwork for wider expansion.

The timing for Mission369 couldn’t be better, as the African continent has recently made significant strides in the world of darts. A shining example is **David Munyua**, who became the first Kenyan ever to win a game on the iconic Alexandra Palace stage, and only the second player from Africa to compete there. Munyua’s inspiring journey has paved the way for many, and now, the Mission369 Initiative will empower tens of thousands of African children to follow in the footsteps of their heroes and achieve their own dreams.

As Mission Darts aptly puts it, “This is just the start of the journey!”
